1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or utilizing WebDefect (“the Service”), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not access or use the Service.

2. Authorized Use & Authorization Warranty

You explicitly warrant that you own or possess verifiable written authorization to audit any fully-qualified domain name (FQDN) or IP range you submit. Unauthorized vulnerability scanning or attack surface reconnaissance against non-consenting third parties may violate computer fraud and cybersecurity statutes in your jurisdiction.

WebDefect disclaims all liability for unauthorized or unlawful actions conducted by users.

3. Nature of the Service

WebDefect provides passive, non-destructive, read-only analysis of public-facing web perimeter resources. Scan results and cyber ratings represent a point-in-time deterministic assessment and do not constitute an absolute warranty against future security incidents or unexposed internal logic flaws.

4. Prohibited Conduct

• Scanning domains or assets without explicit testing authorization
• Attempting to bypass account quotas, session limits, or token tracking systems
• Reselling raw scan outputs without an authorized Enterprise reseller agreement
• Executing aggressive automated Denial of Service (DoS) attacks against the scanning engine

5. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind. Under no legal theory shall WebDefect be held liable for incidental, consequential, or exemplary damages arising out of reliance upon scan ratings or third-party disputes.
